Two weeks in the alps. It was absolutely splendid, must say. Marvelous!
Great skiing. A wonderful christmas complete with an extremely sunny and warm french lunch, shot stops in the piste, a swedish christmas dinner, french dessert buffet, Karl Bertil Jonsson and moustache monday at the cave. A trip to la Grave. New years eve with a russian night club in the piste, a not so short shortcut over a stream and a 2am - 4am shot race. Finished the trip of with some hiking and found some great runs.

Went to a new Chinese ski resort yesterday three hours outside Beijing. The lifts were Doppelmayer with heated seats, the slopes were not half bad and the equipment ok. Of course only one model to choose from and the longest skies they had were 167 but anyway. Got them to readjust a pair for me since they have different lengths skies for different boot sizes. There was only one big problem with the resort. There is no snow. It is so dry that it pretty much never snows or rains. It's a desert landscape. This didn't stop the Malaysian developer to invest 6 billion $ in a resort. They just have make snow for the slopes and don't care about stupid things like off-piste or powder. It was really nice to get out of the smog and breathe some fresh air and see a blue sky. The Chinese hate the sun so they left the sun-chairs for us. Lovely. They just need to learn what after ski is. Maybe they need some consultancy? I know someone who is an expert in the field...

It is half past five on Saturday morning and I am in a taxi going through Beijing. It is rather dead but not as dead as I thought. There is a suprising amount of trafic. Beijing truly never sleeps. If you are wondering what Im doing up at this hour, Im on my way to meet up with the Lenovo ski team. We are going to a brand new Chinese ski resort three hours away from Beijing. Im very exited to see that. Will there be the normal Chinese chaos and what equipment will I get my hands on? Getting closer to work. The commute is way faster at this time.. As we say in Sweden: Morning hour has gold in its mouth!

What happens in Vemdalen stays on the blog.. It was a good cabin, filled with good people and a two day party spectacular. New years eve started off, the best possible way with a champagne bath, then some skiing, a wonderful alpen platte grande, nice after ski and ended with the best party of 2012! Hang over food in the bath the day after..
Got home yesterday. Tomorrow I'm leaving again for Åre. Woop woop.
